Bedford

Sprawling ranches and a charming and historic downtown

Welcome to Bedford

There is a reason so many celebrities and other high-profile individuals choose Bedford as their home. With its beautiful countryside, sprawling ranches, mansions, and historical homes, Bedford offers not just a bucolic small-town feel, but also privacy in an upscale yet relaxed environment.

It's not all mansions, of course. There are all types of neighborhoods and many people choose to buy their starter homes here.

In the picturesque downtown area, you'll see historic homes on tree-lined streets. These homes are set close together and make up a charming neighborhood. As you get further from downtown you'll notice things begin to spread out more, giving way to large estates and ranches.

There is a distinct equestrian vibe here, and there are miles of riding trails throughout the area.

This Westchester hamlet is friendly, quiet, private, and outdoorsy.

What to Love

  • Beautiful homes, wide open spaces, lots of parks and trails
  • Only an hour away from Manhattan
  • Charming downtown
  • Perfect for anyone who loves the outdoors
  • Relaxed, friendly community

Local Lifestyle

Bedford offers upscale living with a strong focus on community and the outdoors. Many residents ride horses, and while that isn't a requisite to living here, it's a great place to be if you love horses.

There are community events, dining, shopping, and plenty of parks and other outdoor areas for hiking, walking, cycling, riding, and exploring.

As with other small towns in Westchester County, there is a sense of peace amid lush natural surroundings that makes you feel like you are far removed from the city and all the noise and congestion that goes with it, however you are a short train ride away should you need to commute or want to spend time there.

Citizens of Bedford enjoy their walks downtown, chatting up neighbors, enjoying the abundant natural beauty, and soaking in peace and relaxation.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

While Bedford's downtown is small, you won't want for places to dine and shop. There are some amazing restaurants in Bedford, such as La Cremaillere, much loved by locals, and the more casual rustic-chic Truck Restaurant.

Ristorante Lucia satisfies your need for delectable Tuscan fare, and Bedford 234 serves up classic American fare in a casual, family-friendly environment.

Spend a quiet weekend at the Bedford Post Inn, a beautiful 19th century inn set in beautiful surroundings just outside of town.

If you ride or know someone who does, you'll have to stop into The Horse Connection, a local tack shop and retail establishment for all things horse related.

Consider The Cook is the perfect place to find items for your kitchen or great gifts, and Bubble & Tweet, a beautiful clothing store where you are sure to find something lovely for yourself or someone special.

You will have a great time poking around the downtown area shops and restaurants, and you are nearby several other hamlets and towns with gorgeous boutiques, trendy restaurants, and all types of amenities.
